Based out of Coloma, CA on the South Fork of the American River, our whitewater rafting guide school is open to everyone. By the end of this fun and intense three weekends of training, you will have a clear understanding of what is needed to successfully navigate a Class III river. You and your fellow guide trainees will learn about equipment, hydrodynamics, running rapids, introduction to swift water rescue, group dynamics and local cultural and natural history. Trip includes instructors, rafting equipment, parking, shuttle between river sections and 3 nights of camping. Camping equipment is available for rent from Peak Adventures at a minimal cost. After this guide school you can apply to any rafting company that operates on the South Fork of the American River. Minimum age is 18.
