This 6-day guide school is open to everyone. By the end of this fun and intense three weekends of training, you will have a clear understanding of what is needed to successfully navigate a Class III river. You and your fellow guide trainees will learn about equipment, hydrodynamics, navigating rapids, introduction to swift water rescue, group dynamics and local cultural and natural history.

Trip includes instructors, rafting gear, parking, shuttle between river sections and 3 nights of camping. Camping gear is available for rent from Peak Adventures at a minimal cost. Minimum age is 18.

After this course, you are guaranteed an interview with Peak Adventures or apply to work as a raft guide with any other company on the South Fork of the American River.
