Peak Adventures Backpacking Guide School is designed for individuals or groups seeking advanced outdoor trip instruction to be used in a professional or personal setting. Along your journey you will have the opportunity to learn, practice and teach advance outdoor skills such as food preparation and protection, map and compass techniques, off trail travel, back country weather prediction, risk assessment and many more. This five day backpacking trip travels through scenic Emigrant Wilderness in Stanislaus National Forest just north of Yosemite. Each day different members of our team will step into a leadership role managing the day’s timeline, activities, and lessons.
Your instructor, Meredith Zanardi, has worked as an outdoor guide since 2005 and as part of the Peak Adventures core team since 2010. Her greatest joy is facilitating opportunities for individuals to learn more about the outdoors and themselves.
Our pre-trip meeting will model techniques for preparing beginners for adventure while also conveying important information for our excursion. Additionally all participants are invited to an optional meal planning training on August 11.
Trip price includes instructors, transportation, equipment, and meals. Minimum age is 18.
